Revlon Beyond Natural - Skin Matching Makeup
Finally, new entry. I've been abandoning this blog for quite some times. I was actually facing my final exam, so I didn't really have time to update my blog. Now that this semester is done, I have to go back to my house, which means, no internet connection!
You know how final exam could be so intimidating and stressful, so the first thing I did is shopping! I've been hearing about Revlon's newest collection, Revlon Beyond Natural. And I was really curious about it, so I went to Revlon counter and get me the Skin Matching Makeup foundation in Light Medium.
Revlon Beyond Natural collection actually includes:
- Smoothing primer
- Skin matching makeup
- Concealer and highlighter in a single compact
- Cream-to-powder eye shadow
- Defining eye pencil
- Defining mascara with molded brush
- Cream lipgloss
- Protective liptint
Unfortunately, here in Indonesia, we can't find complete collection. What we have from this collection:
- Smoothing primer
- Skin matching makeup
- Cream-to-powder eye shadow
- Defining eye pencil
- Protective liptint
- and this compact powder that I can't even find on Revlon's web (??)
It's in the name, Natural. So this foundation doesn't really give you thick coverage which, for me, it's perfect for daily foundation. Based on Revlon's web, this is actually a weightless foundation that goes on white and self-adjusts to match your exact skin tone. Well, I don't know if there's such a thing like that, but for me, this foundation actually matches my skin tone. When I apply it on my face, I can't really see
Now that you've read all the pros about this foundation, I believe the next question would be about oil control. Lately, I wear this foundation for my daily activities. I leave home at about 10a.m and got home at 8p.m with just a little glow on my nose and I don't even bother to use my blotting paper. But, please remember that I have dry skin. So, I don't really know how it goes on oily skin (maybe you can leave a comment? let me know..)
My only complain about this foundation is that, it's too natural that it's not yellow enough for me. But you can't really see that. Plus, if that annoys you, just add a yellow based powder and you're good to go.

Rose Dust
No, it's not a name of another shade of lipstick.
I just created this blog as a place for me to sell some of my pre-loved items. I need to fix this crazy damage in my bank account, you know what I mean. Feel free to visit my so called shop here. There's not much yet. Since I'm facing my final exam next week so I haven't got much time to upload pictures. Hopefully I'll add another stuff, soon.

L'oreal True Match Minerals Foundation
I finally threw my my L'oreal True Match Minerals, right into the sink.
I have no experience with any L'oreal foundation or powder before. And I read a pretty tempting review about this so I decided to give this mineral makeup a try. It said in the packaging that this True Match Minerals Foundation gives:
- Evens skin tone like a foundation
- Light as a powder
- Long lasting
I was already disappointed even on first trial. First of all, the application is kinda tricky, since this is a powder (okay, you can't blame this product on this, since I feel the same way on any powder products). But another cons, this foundation doesn't go smooth on my skin and you can still feel that you're wearing makeup. So I'd strike 'light as powder' from the list.
As for long lasting, well, I don't know how long is it that they're talking about. I put on this foundation and off to church. I didn't have to wait until the church end, I got oil all over my face. Bare in mind that I have a rather dry skin. I never looked that oily before. So, it safe to say that this product has an awful oil control.
And then the thing that happened that really led me into throwing this thing. When I put on this foundation and buff it all over my face, suddenly I feel something wrong with my nose and my throat. I try to cough and there you go, my phlegm.. and it's brown. So I guess I inhale this mineral makeup. And kinda stuck in my throat or something. It happened twice. So before it happened for the third time, I'll just throw it away.
Still, of all the cons I've listed, there's still something that I love about this True Match foundation. That is, the packaging and the brush that's attached to it. I mean, it's very practical. As for the brush, it's kinda funny because that's actually the thing that people complained about from this product. But I love it since it's dense and sturdy. So it picks up a lot of pigment. In the end, I use this brush to apply my not-so-pigmented blush.
About this review, I'm not generalizing all of L'oreal mineral makeup. In fact, I'm thinking about trying the blush right now. I'm just a type of person whose really picky when it comes to foundation and powder.
Anyway, after I threw my True Match foundation, I still keep the packaging. Maybe I'll fill it with something.. My PAC shimmering powder is what I have in mind right now.

Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor
This Superstay Lipcolor comes in a dual end tube, as you can see in the picture. The first side is for the lipcolor and the other side is for the ultra-conditioning balm. According to their website, this Lipcolor claims to be:
This long-wearing lipcolor creates 16 feel-good hours of luminous color.
This long-wearing lipcolor creates 16 feel-good hours of luminous color.
- Flexible formula moves with your lips for no caking or flaking
- Ultra-conditioning, refillable balm seals in softness for all-day comfort
So the best way to test this product is, of course, by wearing it and see how long it'll stay. I've done it. I applied it on my lips and this Superstay Lipcolor really has a super staying power. I mean, it last through my meal, my drink and I even brushed my teeth with this thing on my lips. And it survived the test. That is, if you're talking about staying power.
Another great thing about this Superstay Lipcolor is, look at these pictures.

Yup, it stays on your lips. Not on your cups or your kleenex. Great stuff, huh?

However, after talking about all the pros of this product, I still have some cons. First of all, this lipcolor stays on your lips almost the whole day, that way this lipcolor feels dry on your lips and, like, sticks to your lips in an annoying way. It's like, you can feel that there's another layer on your lips and tightened the surface of your lips. Hmm.. I don't know how to really describe it, but the bottom line is, it feels kinda uncomfortable. And that ultra-conditioning balm doesn't really help either. It gives you extra shine but doesn't really help with the moisturizing since the lipcolor itself is super dry. But maybe you'll get used to it after hours. And I read some reviews that say that you have to re-apply the balm (again and again).
In the end, I still have mixed feelings about this product. But if you love lipcolors with great staying power and you can ignore that dry feelings on your lips, than this Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor is the right thing for you.
As I said in my previous entry, that this Superstay Lipcolor is actually a gift from my mom's friend. She lives in Netherlands. So I googled and found out that this product has different namings in US and Europe. Mine is in Rose Dust (but you won't find this name in US website). And this is the swatch on my lips.

[Review] Bourjois Liner Stylo
My current pencil liner is Bourjois Liner Stylo in Noir. I was out of pencil liner back then and actually looking for my usual pencil liner, which is Revlon Colorstay, but Revlon counter was out of pencil liner while I really really needed one (I mean, what's EOTD without eyeliner? d'oh..). So I headed to the closest counter to Revlon, which is Bourjois. I've never tried any of Bourjois products before, so this Liner Stylo was my first Bourjois ever.
Bourjois Liner Stylo cost like almost twice Revlon Colorstay Pencil Liner. So I thought this is gonna be almost twice better than Revlon. But I was wrong. Nothing special with this eyeliner.
To be honest, Revlon Colorstay Pencil Liner isn't like the best eyeliner either. It smudges. When I lined my upper lashline, I'll see another line on my lower lashline, by the end of the day. But, hey, there's a price for everything. When I chose to buy a rather cheap smudgy eyeliner, I have to make my peace with that.
So when I bought this Bourjois Liner Stylo, I was hoping this will be a better eyeliner than my usual eyeliner. But I found out that this eyeliner smudges too. And it runs out real fast. So I think this eyeliner is a disappointment to me. Won't buy it again.
I think I'll find another eyeliner. The one that really worth the price. Any suggestions?
