Welcoming new products to Angelica line, L'OCCITANE held a Blogger Event to introduce the products to beauty bloggers at Cafe Aria. When I came, the place was decorated with a touch of green, just like our dress code. Even the drinks are green! Too cute. I met some of my blogger friend and had fun chitchatting. We were treated to bite-size snacks as well as hand massage before the event started.
As we enjoy our snacks, Sarah Damanik, Marketing Manager from L'occitane, did a presentation to introduce us to Angelica line, which is a skincare line from L'occitane marketed especially for dehydrated skin. The main ingredient is Angelica archangelica also known as Angelica or Angel Grass. Angelica is plant that can grow to a height of two meters in just a few weeks. And the answer apparently in the roots that grows really deep that it easily finds moisture it needs. From this Angelica extracts, L'occitane createad Organic Angelica Essential Oil that works as antioxidant that protects the skin from free-radical. And Organic Angelica Water that helps boost the circulation of water across skin layers by stimulating the production of aquaphorin (also known as water tunnel).
Angelica line itself has been available since last year. But this year, L'occitane added three more products to complete your hydration needs in a zap, and they are Instant Hydration Mask (super hydrating mask that works in just 3 minutes!), Exfoliating Gel (restores skin radiance in just 30 seconds!) and Face Mist (refreshes and revitalizes in 3 seconds!).
We went home with some L'occitane products from Angelica line and a full size of Instant Hydration Mask so we can try and experience the hydrating sensation ourselves. Don't forget to check out my video about my first impression after I used the mask.
In the middle of last month I was invited by Unicharm to come to the launching of www.shinewithpassion.com where there will be talkshow and discussion about finding your passion and reach your dream, as well as introduction about latest product from Charm. The topic really appealed to me so I decided to come. None of my blogger friends could make it, so I asked my friend, Hanny, to come with me.
The event was held at Kempinski Hotel. The venue was mind-blowing and as I entered, I saw many framed empowering quotes by many famous figure, to complement the theme of passion that day.
The event was hosted by Iwet Ramadhan and Priscilla and started with Mr. Yoshihiro Miyabayashi, the President Director of PT Uni-charm Indonesia giving opening speech and introduced us to the company and their achievement in Asia and, specifically, in Indonesia. And then continued with Mr. Yasuaki Aoyama, Brand Manager Feminine Care of PT Unicharm Indonesia, explaining the ideas behind the campaign and their latest product. "This is an era where women play an active role in social environment. Therefore, more women are maximizing their potential to turn their dream into reality. 'Shine with Passion' comes as a reflection of the passion from Charm to facilitate active and talented women across Indonesia in finding their potential and reach their dreams with maximum effort." Not only by 'Shine With Passion' campaign, Charm also introduces the latest Charm Body Fit Day Slim to prove their passion and commitment to understand active women's needs to work on their passion with no obstacle, including the uncomfortable feeling during that 'time of the month'.
The event continued with talk show with Alexander Sriewijono who is a psychologist and career coach, Revalina Temat who is Charm brand ambassadress and also an actress. And Diana Rikasari, a fashion blogger and young entrepreneur.
We talked about Diana and Reva's passion. What keep them doing what they are doing right now. Reva picked acting as her passion. Trying to portray a character is her passion and something she really enjoys. As for Diana, whether as a blogger or entrepreneur, she loves to share the ideas she has in her mind. With that, Mas Alex comes into an underline that passion doesn't equal job. You are maybe a writer but what is it that you really do when you write? Some people write to share ideas in their head, or maybe to teach someone or to describe something. Also there are people who writes because it's their job, which is most likely the most boring answer (in my opinion). So your passion determine the output of your work. And something that you do out of passion will give more satisfying result and people who see your work can see that.
Mas Alex's presentation about The Quantum Leap theory really is an eye-opener. He started with a question, "If you have only two millions rupiah in your hands, where would you travel six months later?" Many audiences proposed idea of domestic traveling, except for Diana who carefully answered Europe. After he gathered all the answers, he then reminded us that the question asked your purpose in six month later, which means there's enough time to do many things with your current money.
The application is, he asked us not to plan our future based on what we have and then later define our dreams (SW-OT). This way of thinking only reacts to alteration and differences and we 'predict' our future based on what we have. Instead, find your dreams, and then define what you have to do (OT-SW). This way, we create differences and instead of predict, we 'make' our future happen. Quantum leap in growth!
As the talkshow ended, the event came to an end. I'm so glad I decided to take time to come to the event as there were many things I got from it.

The latest most awaited product from Revlon is finally here. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, if you think it’s Colorburst Lip Butter, it is! And to celebrate the launching of the product, Revlon Indonesia together with Cosmopolitan Magazine threw an event for Beauty and Fashion Bloggers. The event was held last Thursday at Poste Kitchen and Bar, Kuningan. In conjunction with the colorful Lip Butter and yummy mouth-watering names of the shade, the dress code for the night was 'Candylicious'. I was excited about the event since it's been so long since the last blogger event and I missed hanging out with my blogger buddies.
Above was my FOTD for the event. I took the picture while I was in parking lot, waiting for Stella (stellalee.net). We decided to go together since we had to cross 3in1 area to reach the venue. So after god-knows-how-many-hours we were sailing through Jakarta's infamous traffic jam, we finally arrived ON TIME! At Poste there were Priscilla (priscillaclara.com), Anisa (nisachan-nisachan.blogspot.com) and mbak Dessy (livingdaisy.blogspot.com) arrived early. I was so happy to meet them again. Some of the bloggers who I met for the first time that night were Carryn (carrynapratiwi.blogspot.com) and Catra (shinelikeastarr-beauty.blogspot.com). Even Mada (cantiktanpabangkrut.blogspot.com), beauty blogger from Bandung, showed up that night! Other bloggers I met were Putri (putrikansil.blogspot.com) and Leni (cominica.net) though we didn't get to chat too much. There were so many beauty bloggers whose face are familiar through blogosphere, I was overwhelmed. It is always fun to meet new blogger friends!
Meanwhile, the venue was decorated according to the theme. It was like stepping into a Candyland! The decoration was so cute filled with lollipops.
Looked like Revlon made sure that the venue didn't just look cute, but also sweet and sugary enough. How could it not be? There were lollipops and cupcakes! By the way, do you think my outfit was Candylicious enough? Well, when they said 'candy' I immediately thought colors. So yeah, I didn't even know what kind of candy I was.. but maybe caramel candy? Oh well..
The dinner was served. And while we were enjoying dinner, we were introduced to the product that was launched that night, Colorburst Lip Butter. The idea behind the product is a mixture between lipstick and lipbalm. Enriched with mango butter, shea butter and coconut butter to boost the moisturizing effect. There are 20 colors available and we were offered to try whichever we liked. So I changed my lip color.
And that night, us bloggers were wearing Lip Butter on our lips. I didn't get to snap pictures of everybody. But here's some.
Nisa wearing Sweet Tart. Me wearing Tutti Frutti.
I tried Tutti Frutti at the counter before the event and fell in love instantly. I have really been into coral lately and this Tutti Frutti fits the category. I was thinking about purchasing it but decided to postpone at least until after the launching.
The event was hosted by Iwet Ramadhan and Ari Kirana. And to start the event, Santi Turino, Brand Manager of Revlon Indonesia, gave an opening speech and introduced us to Lip Butter with the beautiful Emma Stone as the face of the product. Because Revlon Indonesia hits the highest selling rate in South East Asia, it was arranged that the launching of Lip Butter is not so far behind the launching in USA so Indonesian customers can try the product immediately. And this is the first launching of Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in South East Asia region. We also watched behind the scene of Revlon Lip Butter commercial, starring Emma Stone.
Next was a talk show about latest fashion trend with Dewi Utari (dewiutari.blogspot.com), Fashion Editor of Harper's Bazaar Indonesia, together with Nina Nikicio (nikicio.com), CEO of the Fashion label Nikicio. And of course since it was an event for fashion and beauty bloggers, it wouldn't be complete without makeup talk. Makeup talk that evening was with makeup artist Hendro Revco and the beautiful Revlon Local Brand Ambassador, Carissa Putri.
Makeup artist for Carissa Putri and Ary Kirana for the evening was Hendro Revco. Carissa Putri looked absolutely stunning. Of course she was wearing Lip Butter and her shade was Cupcake. Carissa said she prefers soft makeup and the lip color really completed the whole look. For the eyes, instead of black, she opted for teal color from CustomEyes palette in Party Pops to line her lower lashline.
Hendro Revco gave out some tips about Lip Butter. He mentioned that Lip Butter is unique in a way that the colors appear differently on different people. So it is very important to try out the products directly on the lips instead of just sweeping it on the hand. Also, it is important to wear moisturizing lip products like Revlon Lip Butter. Not only it protects your lips from dryness, the products could also help remove dead skin on the surface of the lips along when you remove the lipstick.
After some games, door prize and all, the event finally came to an end. All the bloggers took pictures together but unfortunately I had to get home as soon as I can since it was getting late so I missed it. But I did take picture with the host that night, Ary Kirana, who of course wore Lip Butter. Hers was in shade Lollipop. I also managed to snap a picture with Carissa Putri.
Revlon did not let us go home empty handed. We received a goody bag filled with everything sweet. There were lollipops, cupcakes, cotton candy, and the sweetest of all, two Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. Did I mention I postponed purchasing the color Tutti Frutti? Smart move! Because that's the shade I got, together with Sugar Plum.
By the way, because I worked with Revlon before to review their products, I was asked to do a small interview with O Channel to give my opinion about the event and the product. I was so excited yet nervous at the same time. I believe I just made a fool of myself although they said they will edit the scene first before airing it. So stay tune on O Channel this Sunday at 06.30pm if you wanna watch me embarrassed myself!
After a previous fun post, let's move on to a bit more serious topic. In this post I’m going to share with you what I got from Meet & Greet with David Arbid. You might find this post kinda boring since there'll be too many writings and not much pictures, which is totally the opposite of my other entries.
Honestly, I’ve never heard about David Arbid before. Little did I know, he is actually the international brand ambassador for Make Up Forever HD line. His job includes traveling from one country to another, presenting about MUFE HD line, tutoring make up artists or common people who are interested about make up, which includes bloggers. He works together with Dany Sanz, founder of Make Up Forever. If you are familiar with MUFE products and their HD line, I’m sure you have heard about their no-retouch campaign. David Arbid is actually one of the make up artists who worked for the advertorial. If you go to mufepro, which is Make Up Forever official youtube channel, there’s this video of David doing an interview about HD products. So that’s pretty much how big of a make up artist he is.
You see the red haired girl with a cheetah next to her? David did her make up.
The line itself has been around since 2008. In my opinion this event mostly is to share more information about makes up basics, in general. And also to learn more about their HD line.
The event started with Ina Balasong, Make Up Forever General Manager, welcome us. She was very glad to see how enthusiast the bloggers are. There are two events that were held on the day. The earlier session is for media and the later is for bloggers. I think bloggers here represent common people, who are not professional make up artist nor poeple who works in beauty industry, and later going to write and share stories about the products just because they like or dislike it.
First, David Arbid told us a little bit about the background of this line. Make up for cinema has come a long way, from those days where television can only provide black and white, where make up doesn't really play a big role, to higher and higher pixels cameras that accentuate all the flaws on your face and even unnatural make up. MUFE HD line was designed to deliver flawless looking skin and yet still look natural. Even now, camera is pretty much everywhere. Almost everybody has pocket camera and, not to mention, smart phones. People can take pictures anytime, anywhere. So HD line works not only for high definition camera, but also pocket camera and smart phones so you can look good anytime.
The are 3 steps.
Step one is hydration and smoothing the skin. This is where you prime the complexion using elixir and primer. You can use both or just one of those.
Step two is to add coverage for your face using foundation and concealer.
Step three is finishing step using blush and mineral powder.
Step One.
While working on the model, David used a regular foundation brush and a mixing palette. He started by applying elixir on the model's face.
He uses the brush the apply elixir that works as base for your make up and also moisturize your skin. It provides long lasting hydration to the skin, about 520% after 15 minutes and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles on your face. You can keep the elixir in the fridge.
Step Two
The foundation works for any skin type. This oil-free foundation gives you a medium coverage with natural glowy finish. Again, he applied the foundation with the foundation brush. He told us to apply your foundation all the way to the neck to make your foundation looks well blended. Now, here's how he does it kinda differently. Well, at least different than how I usually apply my foundation. David applied a little product along the jaw and the neck and then, using his palm, he gently blend the foundation on the neck area.
David really emphasized the fact that foundation only works to cover. Which means, you have to have a good base and that is healthy skin. Make sure you take good care of your skin properly on daily basis to get the best result from your make up. Remember that foundation is not skincare. It's something you wear to accentuate what you already have, not something that will magically change you. Apparently this is an important point even David actually told us, "Please write this down on your blog" and that's what I'm doing. lol.
Concealer is applied after foundation. I know there are mixed opinion about whether you should apply your concealer before or after your foundation. But here's the logic, when you apply your foundation first, you can see areas that will need more coverage or not. If, with your foundation, you can already cover your under eye area, there's no need to apply concealer there. Therefore, you'll use less product on the face.
Another way to use the concealer, other than to conceal the imperfection, is to use it as a highlighter. That is, if you prefer a matte highlighter. Or if you want a shimmery finish, you can use their recently launched HD Uplight.
Step Three
HD blush has a matte finish. It works not only for your cheeks, but it's also safe to be worn on your lips as well as on the eyes.
This blush looks very natural and rather foolproof, it's almost impossible for you to fail wearing this blush. But, if you think your blush it too pigmented on your cheeks, all you have to do is dab a thin layer of foundation on top of the blush. If you think the blush is too matte and tacky, you can mix it with primer. And if you want shimmery finish, you can also mix it with Uplight.
The powder is what you use to set the whole make up. HD powder is a finely milled silica based powder that comes in one universal translucent shade to match all skin tones. Using MUFE kabuki brush is highly recommended to apply the powder.
David did mention ab0ut pictures of celebrity that came out few time ago. I'm sure you've seen pictures of Eva Longoria and Nicole Kidman with white cast all over their face. Well, that's the result when you don't use the powder properly.
Once the powder set on your face, remember to always sweep the excess powder from your face so you won't end up with white cast.
While the make over is in progress, the whole process was being recorded using video camera and being aired directly to an HD television, so we can see the result in real life as well is on TV. Honestly, in real life, I didn't really see the difference on the model's face, considering she has a flawless complexion already. But on TV I can see how glowy her skin looks. Really gorgeous.
Okay, I think that's all that I want to share with you about some tips from David Arbid. Excuse the super long post. Hope that would be helpful for you.
Anyway, here's what I got from the goody bag. Really can't wait to give them a try and I'll report back in this blog.
