Christian Dior - Fall / Winter 2008 Runway Look

Close enough? Haha..

I know, this is a last year look. I saw the pictures in my friend's magazine, like, months ago. Since I'm not really into designers and runway walk and stuff, I didn't really notice about the designer but the makeup really caught my eyes. Those models looked as if they have such big eyes. And with big hair, they really looked like a doll.

So I was browsing the internet and I found pictures of the models from Christian Dior's show for Fashion Week. So I thought I'd give it a try. I don't have a white eyeshadow that really thick and pigmented. Besides, on my medium skin tone, even the brightest color will look warmer. That's why I used white eyeliner, that'll give thicker coverage, rather than white eyeshadow.

Too bad I could only do this look on one eye, because I only have one set of fake eyelash. I used that as my upper and lower eyelash..

Some tips:
  1. Use thicker eyelashes to really imitates the look.. I don't have any, so I just use what I got
  2. Apply the lower eyelash under your real eyelash.. By the way, this is a very good idea if you wanna make you eyes look bigger
  3. This isn't a daily look.. Don't use this unless you're gonna walk on a runway, or you're going to a Halloween party or.. you're doing a tutorial.. haha..

[Tutorial] Light Smokey Eyes

My first tutorial.. Yay!

Actually, this is a very common look, it's a smokey eye look, only lighter. I don't know why but somehow, people just can't get enough of smokey eyes. I call this look as "light" cause I wont be using a lot of black.

For this look, I'm using:
  • light grey e/s - Estee Lauder palette, Warm Effects
  • medium grey e/s - Estee Lauder palette, Warm Effects
  • black e/s - Maybelline Eyeshadow Palette MX-4 Venice Carnaval
  • cream colored e/s - Inez 05 Venice
  • pencil and liquid eyeliner - Revlon
  • eyebrow pencil - Revlon
  • black mascara - Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension
Remember that you don't have to use the exact same products with me. If you have another brand with pretty much same color, that'll work too.

Step 1: Take light grey e/s and apply it all over eyelid
Step 2: Apply medium grey e/s (I have to name the e/s by color cause there's no actual name for each color in this palette) all over the crease, just under the browbone

Step 3: Take black e/s to make an "outer V" in the outer corner of the eye
So, those three steps are pretty much the basic steps. How thick the black e/s is actually up to you but don't forget to blend the e/s, especially the "outer V", until you see no harsh line.

Step 4: Once you're done blending, take a cream e/s and sweep it just under your brow as a highlight. Apply the same color in the inner corner of your eyes, just near the tear duct. After you finished Step 4, apply eyeliner on all over your upper lash line and outer half of your lower lash line. Curl your lashes and add black mascara.

And the final look:

Have fun playing with your make up!

By the way, this is me playing around with my Window Movie Maker. I just found out that I have this program in my computer. It was kinda confusing at first but it turned out to be real fun. Especially the narrating part! Anyway, this is just a pictures compilation. It's kinda impossible to upload an animated video with a super slow internet connection like mine. Well, this is not good enough. But I think it's not bad for a beginner, well, a first-timer, like me... Haha..
